Whatcha been doin' since '69:
Life has been full of opportunities, challenges, dreams and blessings these past 40 years. The simple days of ballgames, classes, homeowrk, friendships, FFA trips and 1957 Chevys(I wish I still owned mine) are all great memories of the past.
Upon completion of High School I enrolled at Spokane Community College baking class. In the fall of 1970 I became baker/manager of the "Donut Time" shops, previously the famous "Spoon" located next to Mead High School. I loved cake decorating and did my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary cake and our wedding cake.
June 4, 1971 I married the love of my life, Sharon, from Central Valley High School, class of 1971. This new chapter in our lives found us working together and helping to operate the family Dairy farm at Chattaroy. My plan was to partner with my family and to operate the dairy.
Feeling God's guidance He used some events in our lives to bring us into ministry in the church. Sharon and I left the farm and moved to Spokane where we began as Youth Pastors at the Crestline Church of the Nazarene. We had a great time. During this time I also worked as a delivery driver for Produce Supply Co. with Steve Buckley. From 1978-1980 I also worked at Fox Milling Co. at Mead.
1980-1986 life found us as Senior Pastor of the Heppner, Oregon Church of the Nazarene. In 1982 I was blessed to experience the joy of going on a work team to Costa Rica to build a home for missionaries.
July 1986 we moved to Moses Lake, WA to pastor the church and finish a building addition already in process. Today we still pastor this wonderful supportive group of people (120 members). Sharon works as church administrator and is a great helpmate and pastor's wife! Both of us have served as camp directors, counselors, and served on various boards and committees. I have served as chaplain for the Moses Lake Police Dept., Grant County Sheriff, Samaritan Hospital and Basin Home Health and Hospice. Also, today I serve as apprentice Funeral Director at Kayser's Chapel of Memories in Moses Lake.
Our three daughters all serve in the medical field in the area of social services working for hospitals and medical facilities. They are all graduates of Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho.
The joy of my life is my granddaughter, Jayden who is 3 1/2 years old and can sing or say anything and keeps me laughing all the time.
I am looking forward to renewing friendships and recalling memories of the past! See you at our class reunion in June.
