Whatcha been doin' since '69:
Went directly to the University Of Puget Sound after Mead. Graduated in 4 years with a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy. However, in order to get your license you have to complete an additional year of field work (full time for no money!). I decided that would be a good reason to travel. I did one affiliation in a general hospital in San Francisco and the other state mental hospital in Wingdale N.Y..
I met my first husband in N.Y.(married for 25 yrs). This is a testament to my stubborn personality (should bailed on my wedding day as my instincts told me to do). We moved to Texas after living in Potosi, Mo. for 3 yrs. (couldn't wait to get out of there)! Any of you who are familiar with rural Missouri will know what I mean. Anyway, in Texas, we lived in a community of earth sheltered houses. We went without outside utilities (on purpose) for the first 10 years. You can't power air conditioning with solar or wind power - and Texas is very "hot" in the summer. But we got along very well with everything else. We spent most weekends racing a catamaran sailboat. Not your typical type of sailboat racing - you get wet!
I divorced in 2001 and made an oath to swear off men for good. Then.....the love of my life appeared. We now live in a "normal" house and I look forward to spending many long years in bliss rocking on the front porch with my soul mate.
