Over the years, I have wondered if any classmates made the trip to Woodstock. I sure wanted to go. While in the service, I met a few people who were there and they said that it was unbelievable.

I don't know if many of you have taken note of the fact that our alma mater is no longer operating as a school in the Mead School District. A certain sentiment went along with the closing of the building. Did any of you make it to the Open House held at the closing?

Didn't know about that. When was it closed? The last I had heard it was a middle school. What is going to happen to the building?

I drive by the old building now and then. It's a junior high school now, isn't it? Looking at it literally floods me with memories! It really looks much the same from the outside. The football field is virtually unchanged and I can still smell the autumn air as we would head toward the bleachers to watch the football team play 40 years ago. I can hear the crowds roaring, the band playing....somewhere off in the distance are Vicki and Val McGee, Judy Swanson, Alison Bantz and Tricia Gregorak---our class cheerleaders---doing their thing. Precious memories. When organizing this reunion, I thought long and hard about throwing the event on that same ball field. But the logistics of food, restrooms, getting permission from the right people and weather, precluded me from pursuing it. Just hold that thought when you walk into Twigs Bistro & Martini Bar and remember that old ball field from so long ago......
