Mike had four children and one grandchild.

He continued with the Boy Scouts of America as an adult, working with young children at Indian Summer Camp at Twin Lakes and also Camp Cowles on Diamond Lake.  Some of his work involved trips back east and overseas.

Decorating his home over the Christmas Season was one of  his favorite activities.

Mike passed away, at the age of 50, in Spokane on April 12, 2001.  Interment with Military Honors was at Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, WA
