Joyce Gull Chapman

Steve was in Vietnam for one year as an
airplane mechanic. I met him after he returned.
He had some intersting stories, snakes on the
runway, taking the plane out for test run.
Rats in the bunks. But all and all did not really
talk too much about his time there.

My grandkids call me Nana, and they called
Steve Papa.

Worked a couple of years after high school.
Married Steve Chapman in 1971. Had
daughter Tammy in 1972 and son Jason in
1975. I was a stay at home mom. We spent
every weekend and vacations at the cabin
at Priest Lake. We took vacations to the
ocean and Disneyland. Steve traveled and
I would go with him, Hawaii and Alaska were
my favoites. We bought property at the lake
in l990 and have a 40 by 40 shop. Steve retired
in 2003. We spent most of our time at our
property. On June 13, 2007 Steve passed
away in his sleep at our property. That was
the saddest day of my life. We were married
for 36 years. I still miss him every day.
I had a rough year, but am doing good. I
spent all of spring, summer and fall at my]
property. I have a 40 foot park model trailer,
and in the shop a great kitchen and bathroom.
Had a deck built off my trailer, so am set up
pretty good. I had lots of family and friends
visit me. I spent alot of time by myself, floating
on the water, and enjoying camp fires at night.
I keep busy with family and friends. I do lots
of crafts and hobbies. See you in June.
