MARTYN,
Marc W.
(Age 66)

It is with shock and sadness that we share with you that Marc W. Martyn passed away on Thursday, March 16th after a short illness.
Marc was born on Christmas Eve, 1950 in Aberdeen, SD to Dr. and Mrs. Wilford Martyn. He was pre-deceased by both of his parents and older brothers Jack and Bill.
The family made several moves during Marc's early years, including stops in San Francisco and Ukiah, CA. Spokane had become his home by the time he entered Mead High School where he graduated in 1969.
Shortly after high school Marc enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was an aircraft mechanic stationed in Guam during the Vietnam Conflict. He took great pride in his duty to make the planes he worked on safe for the crews who flew them into combat. Marc finished his remaining time in the service at Beale AFB in Marysville, CA and was honorably discharged in 1976.
Marc returned to Spokane following his Air Force service and graduated from Spokane Falls Community College. He was then hired by Greenwood-Riverside and Fairmont Memorial Parks where he would work for almost 20 years. In the late 1990s Marc opened K&B Remodeling. His natural talents for building, repairs and attention to detail served him well as a general contractor. His goal was to do a first class job for a reasonable price. Marc also took great pride in getting to know his customers on a personal level and creating the perfect kitchen or bathroom for their individual family.
Marc had a passion for fly fishing and in his retirement spent countless hours at local lakes and rivers. He also loved working in his yard, learning about family history and genealogy, biking the Trail of the Coeur d' Alenes with his wife Chiere and spending time with their beagle Reggie.
He is survived by his wife Chiere; son Jake Martyn; daughter and son-in-law Trena and Steve Wanless; daughter and son-in-law Jessica and Eddie Savre; grandchildren Brandon, Noah, Ashley, Nathan, Faith, Sarah, Hannah and Hailey.
A service celebrating Marc's life will be held on Friday, March 24th at 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family would ask you to consider a donation to one of Marc's favorite organizations Project Healing Waters.
